So near.....yet so far

So the new snuggle bed arrived last week.

Anything new in the house and his Majesty is normally sniffing it, looking at it, walking to and from it....but this is as close as he's got to the bed so far

Re: So near.....yet so far

How typical eh I haven't bought my two a bed for the reason they probably wouldn't go near it. I've bought them a radiator one though which Skye seems to like. They seem happy enough snuggling on their tree though.

His nose will get the better of him eventually and he'll go for a sniff, probably when you're not looking

Mine all ignore cat beds!

Beautiful cat by the way - I'll take him off your hands if he keeps shunning your bed offers!

Re: So near.....yet so far

Ahh yes, we had one that did that. Notice in the attached photo that Spock, when given the option of a radiator bed, a hammock and a window pad, preferred to ignore them all.

Try reading a newspaper over the new bed, I'm sure he'll be in it before you can say "tuna"...

Re: So near.....yet so far

My cats prefer an igloo bed. They like the feeling of being all enclosed in. They also like to nap in the cat carrier too.

I do feel your pain though about your cat bed. I made one for Fluffy out of a cardboard box and lined it with a fluffy blanket and she refused to even try it.

Re: So near.....yet so far

It was a bit of a gamble, he actually puts himself to bed in his cat carrier which is permenantly in the kitchen. We may have to try an igloo bed, am thinking he likes to be more enclosed!

He doesn't know it yet but he has a new blanket en route so we may lay that across the bed to see if that helps.

Thank you. He is lovely....except when he's tapping my face to wake me up at silly 'o' clock!

His "thing" is if I'm reading a book. He'll sit there tapping the book until i put it down then he quite happily sits there tapping the pages

Strangely he wasn't that interested in the HUGE box it came it (good old Zooplus with their over enthuiastic packaging)

That's the one I was looking at for Oscar, might just get a cheap igloo off of e-bay and see what he does with that!

It might be an idea - it's such a shame, it's the softest, cuddliest, loveliest bed ever - I'd sleep in it if I could fit

Maybe they'll use them when it gets colder (am thinking of tempting them in with a snugglesafe heat pad when it gets really cold).
