I just had a mammoth of a spider run across the living room and under the sofa where I am/was sitting scared: Being that I am TERRIFIED of spiders I ran away like the big girl that I am! The spider ran out the other side and Jaffe (bless his furry soul) Just sat there, watched it run under the armchair, jumped up on the sofa and started licking himself! I said "Jaffe catch the big scary spider for mummy!" and just he just gave me that look of catch it your f******g self and carried on licking himself! RUDE! :roll eyes: After that and this mornings ordeal I'm considering swapping him for a spider catching model like my old cat!

For you out there who are like me are your cats any good at catching spiders?

Monty and Dinah love catching spiders. They put their paws on them until they shrivel up in a ball, then munch them, usually sharing! i.e. one of them will munch off a few legs, then drop it, and the other kitten will toddle along and munch off the rest of the legs and drop the body. Then the other kitten will toddle back over and gobble up the body.

Delightful.

mine catch the spiders and eat them but im glad they do as i hate them

I hate spiders but OH doesn't let me catch them and put them outside. I say "omg, spider, look! spider!!" and he'll say "they keep other bugs away, leave it alone" And Kiras not much better. Flies, moths, other flying beings she'll catch and eat. Spiders. No. I'm on a loser lol

I have 4 cats, Jess - shes getting old, she just watches.
Mouse likes catching moths. Tibbi is excellent at catching flies and Fluff - give him a bird or mouse even the occasional rat and he's fantastic but any type of creepy crawly and he becomes 'yuck, you expect me to catch that,' gives me a look and wanders off.

I don't like spiders but would never kill them myself!

My Frankie will just look at them and walk away . Timmy, sadly is no longer with us, would gobble them up in a flash, he wouldn't bother playing with them. I would sometimes find spider legs in random places. If he saw one on the wall or ceiling and couldn't get it he would pace the room meowing his head off, my OH would lift him up, he would pick the spider up in his paws and gobble it down
