Food donation

Do rescues accept donations of food?
I have an unopened bag Science Plan, and another with maybe 2 bowls worth gone, and an open bag of IAMS with about the same gone (all dry), and a brand new box of RC Kitten pouches (new babies dont eat it anymore, and breeder is now feeding AC and Bozita for me)

Re: Food donation

Yes, I think your local rescue would be very happy to receive the food. Our local rescue has a big tub in the pet shop for food donations and have a collection outside Tesco's at Christmas time.

Re: Food donation

Yup they do It's sometimes the only way they can get food! I worked at SSPCA for my placement from college and they had so many different brands of food because it was all donated.

Our local coop used to have a trolley sitting to put food in for a local rescue.

Re: Food donation

Good idea - I've got a load of Whiskas kitten pouches as well as Purely which mine won't eat. I've been looking for the collection bins too but could deliver to a local rescue, think I'll do just that if anyone wants them, cheers for the idea

Re: Food donation

I was going to say my local one does...They even have a big collection point near the door of a local pet supermarket for people to put food donations in..

As you shop for your pets you can buy something for the shelter animals and drop it off at the door on your way out .

Someone from the shelter comes along once a week to collect everything.

How handy is that?
