Cat litter tray liners - good, bad or rubbish?
I have just started to experiment with cat litter tray liners.
I haven't made my mind up yet whether I will buy another pack when these are done. They certainly do keep the actual litter tray from getting really messy. The downside is when the kittens are covering up their stuff, their claws tend to snag on the liner. So, do any of you bother with liners or not? |

Absolute rubbish - they just rip up and you still end up having to wash the litter tray - and that's the reason you have them, so you don't have to wash the tray so often.

Quite agree with others - they just get ripped to shreds which kind of defeats the object of having them

As above. I tried using one once - never again - the kittens thought it was the best game ever trying to dig the thing up, throwing litter round the room in the process.
Don't line the tray at all now, and it doesn't get nasty, decent litter and plenty of it seems to do the trick. (About 3 inches deep cats best in my case)

Re: Cat litter tray liners - good, bad or rubbish?
ok, i'll go against everybody so far, for a wee bit.
when i had Cleo, they were great, not a lot of holes in them and the tray didn't need that much cleaning. now Roscoe's a different matter, no use at all, think he's digging to OZ ![]() |

Re: Cat litter tray liners - good, bad or rubbish?
I used to use them when I was using wood pellets. They ripped every time and the only reason I carried on with them was because they do protect the bottom of the tray from getting dirty at least in part. Now I use Cat's best litter and because it's clumping and most of the time I'm just topping it up I don't bother with liners because I'm only throwing away the whole of the litter every 5 or 6 weeks.
