Re: Are your cats affected by the heatwave?

It can't be nice having a big fur coat in this weather. Our pair cope well by finding a bush to sleep under. But Dexter has his own bonkers methods of keeping cool:

Re: Are your cats affected by the heatwave?

When it's hot here, and Sam insists on going in the garden in the middle of the day (when the aircon is going full blast in the house and going outside feels like walking into an oven), I soak all round his ears, head and neck with water to try and keep him cool. He doesn't appreciate it very much until he realises how nice it feels once it's done!

None of ours are very active in the summer because you can only make the aircon work so hard if you want to pay the electric bill and still eat, so it's still high 20s in the house during the day. They generally wake up and get active in the evening and early morning.
