Re: Some help please....

Some of the breed rescues have kittens. The oriental cat assoc had 2 kittens advertised as needing homes because they were shy. Those were to go separately or in the company of another adult, but it shows kittens are sometimes available. I doubt a breed rescue would have an issue with an indoor home.

Re: Some help please....

Look on ragsrescue though I have to say it is rare we have any kittens available. I would add that we will not rehome any cats during December.

As already mentioned a lot of the breed clubs offer rehomes - read up on the breeds you may be interested in to see what particular characteristics of that breed may appeal to you.

Good luck!

Re: Some help please....

Thanks so much for all your advice!! I would definitely consider an adult cat as long as it was used to being an indoors cat to begin with. The main reason I wanted kittens was because they would not know ay different. I'm quite shocked that you are dismissed straight away from a rescue centre for wanting to keep them mainly indoors when there are so many cats who want homes but I suppose they have their reasons. I had a look at the cat and rabbit centre at Sidlesham but I don't live in their re-homing area :-( You have all given me some great ideas, so thank you!! x

I found that many shelters where I live won't give kittens as indoor cats. They want the kitten to experience the "great outdoors". Your best bet is those adult rescue cats who are very timid and if you are lucky, you will get a pair- siblings. There are also cats with FIV or disabilities that dictate they should be indoor. Best of luck.

Exactly!! I don't know why they have such a problem with it, surely a safe loving home is the most important thing? I'm getting a bit disheartened by it all to honest, wherever I seem to go as soon as I say I live in a flat I'm told no!!
