It's funny how they can do that, they really do have their own minds! Sooty would deliberately flounce off like a grump teenager and ignore me for about a day, then he gave in and did his "loveface again which he only ever did to me I miss him

Re: Special moment

A special moment from Black Toms time with me, if only because it was a mystery solved.

He lived next door but would sneak into my house every chance he got and these visits became so frequent his owners said if he was happier with me and if I was willing to take him on, he was mine

Anyhow, before I had the flap I'd often find him in the house with the back door open, and just as often curse myself for not shutting it properly, but when it kept happening I began to think the catch on the door handle was faulty if the door could be just pushed open by a cat.

I couldn't find anything wrong with the handle, but the mystery was solved one day when I was outside and saw how he got in, he jumped up and hung onto the handle till the door opened. I couldn't believe my eyes, but he must have watched me use the handle and learned how to do it himself. I asked my neighbours if he'd done this with them, but seemingly not.
