Tell me about it!! Apparently this woman lives in a bungalow and has a really long hall way and the kittens run all the way down and up and down the curtains, over the cupboards and down like a big circuit.

ALL REALLY NORMAL KITTEN BEHAVIOUR.

Yes, I can understand it's a bit of an undesirable way to treat cats (IE, take them home, then take them back to the place you got them from (rescue centre?)) and indeed any animal but they are cats, not humans.
Don't get me wrong, the passion people have for these animals is great, however:
.
Animals are not "jumpers that dont fit"so we'll just take them back for a refund. They are creatures with feelings,if more people actually thought about the "bigger picture" they would realise that there are going to have to be some changes made and that kittens will scratch, nip, possibly destroy stuff but that is what living, breathing playful kittens do .If you feel you cant handle it dont get them in the first place, and yes I like many other posters feel very sad and slightly annoyed that more thought was not put into taking the kittens.

Perhaps yes. There is definitely a feel of "if you feed supermarket food, you are not doing it right". It's only been from some people, the majority have been pretty friendly and helping new cat owners.

Most of you? Or some of you? :P I didn't think through everything, but I knew some basics of keeping a cat and had help from two experienced cat owners, plus this forum. But they are not dead, the vets say they are both healthy, so I am happy I am doing the right thing (IE: feeding enough, etc).

We all should have done this or that though. I agree with you, it's not something I would praise her about, but I wouldn't suggest she shouldn't own another animal ever, that's a bit overboard in my opinion.

Instead, I would be more concerned about where she got the cat from, that they didn't check properly.

Yes, I have been annoyed at the scratching, the malting and everything else but I know it won't be like this all the time and they will settle down and become loving cats.

Like I say, I love the passion people have here, but the lack of depth to their pitchforking and such does make me wonder sometimes

Re: Discusted with my friend's sister-in-law

It has already been discussed earlier in the thread that the CP should have been more thorough in their home check but who knows what was said to them by this lady in order to get these fluffy white bundles?

You don't have to be a cat expert before getting a cat, but if you are going through all the trouble of getting rescue cats/kittens then you should ensure you have basic knowledge of potential behavioural issues in an older cat due to past experience or if getting a kitten, of basic kitten behaviour, one of which being scratching.

These kittens could have lost out on a potential forever home due to this stupid woman. So yes, I will slag her off, as people like her are a real problem to rescue centre workers/volunteers who waste their valuable time and for people like me, who then have to jump through hoops to convince centres that I am not like her.

As to what food you feed, I personally don't care, although Zooplus have some good offers on right now
