Well the day has finally arrived, Luna gets spayed tomorrow. Im terrified Ive been told by the recptionist to starve her from midnight tonight but leave her water to drink. Then I have to drop her off at 9am She will then be taken to their sister surgery for the operation. I have a question though, how long does it normally take? Are they likely to keep her overnight? And obviously the other thing scaring me is that she isnt going to wake up its stupid I know because they do these operations all the time and shes a strong healthy girl but it is a big op and Im a worrier

No matter how routine something is, it is still scary because it is out of your control.

The vets usually advise when time you can call them after - It tends to be after 2'ish as a rule but my new vets were great when Oscar went in and told me to call whenever I liked and as often as I liked.

Good luck little Luna - that's two lots of Good Luck vibes for tomorrow.

Good luck Luna, it varies I think hun, as at my vet's you can't feed them after 6pm whilst my sister's is 10pm, my vet also ring's once the op is done, and will ring when ready to go home. I normally ring in between though x

Its only natural to worry,but as you say it is a routine op and is done everyday.There should be no need for her to be kept in overnight,she will probably be a bit sleepy for a while,but also some are bouncing around as though nothing has happened.Good luck Luna and her slave.If they dont give you a buster collar I would ask for one just incase.Better to have one and not need it than be sat up all night because she wont leave her wound alone.

I feel your pain. I know female is more invasive than male so can be more dangerous but Spencer is getting done tomorrow too Poor Skye is going to be lost without him tonight and tomorrow

ask them in the morning when youre allowed to call - mine was 1pm, and then they gave a take home time, neither stayed overnight
collected about 4.30 i think

did worry all day!!!

I worried myself sick when Dinah and Monty were done but it was all over with quickly, and they soon bounced back afterwards. Good luck for tomorrow! xxx
