Kitten bullying older cat....

Uggs keeps bullying Chew when she goes to eat. She has dry down all the time (please dont talk about dry food etc) and EVERY time she goes to eat some of her food, no matter what Uggs is doing at the time even if he is fast asleep he will rush over to her and start eating her food too. In the end he pushes her out of the bowl and she just walks off and doesnt eat anymore.

How can I stop this?? Poor Chewie is loosing weight now and its not like Uggs doesnt have his food down aswel! He always has dry down and I am feeding him wet about 5-6 times a day!!!

I dont think its that Uggs is hungry I just think he wants to eat what Chew is eating and rubbing up agaisnt her but it just stops her eating!!

we've been having this trouble with our kittens stealing the big boys food i have had to resort to sitting on the floor next to them when they eat and literally keep moving the naughty ones back to their bowl, i have to act quickly as the older ones will walk away as soon as they try also. One of my cats actually now leaves some of his food for the kittens!

Re: Kitten bullying older cat....

I cant unfortunately as like I said before Chew has dry down all day and just goes over to it every now and then to eat. She has no set times to eat etc and is unhappy about having set times as she likes to eat when she wants to.... its just so annoying that Uggs doesnt even really want to eat the food he just eats it to stop her eating it grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

oh god i know what you mean, one of mine doesn't like set times, so he comes to me to put his bowl out again. For some reason they just won't defend their food

Re: Kitten bullying older cat....

I know its crazy she puts him in his place if he gets too full on in play with her but thats all. He seems to deffo be top cat here grrrrr!! Normally I wouldnt mind but as poor Chew is loosing weight still (she was on a diet but now Im trying to keep the weight on as she at the right weight etc) I am a little worried she will get too skinny
