What do you WANT!?!?!?!

Katie and Peter are now nearly three months and still very silly in the best way

However, the last few days they have been very demanding - they have plenty of food and they eat it when they're hungry, plenty of water, clean litter and toys and I spent at least an hour or two playing with them every evening untill they tire themselves out and then we have a nice cuddle. But they follow me around everywhere and they're constantly trying to climb me and they mew as if they want something whenever I look at them. I just can;t work out what they want! Any ideas?

This has all started since I had to go away for the weekend. I made sure they had someone come in every day to give them food and clean the litter and affection but could it be seperation anxiety?

Re: What do you WANT!?!?!?!

Katie and Peter? Best cat names EVER! I hope they don't find like the real Katie and Peter (if that is who you named them after...)

Right, it could be anxiety. I noticed with Waffles that she goes through stages of being clingy. She is going through one now and it does drive me up the wall sometimes. She meows until I pick her up and put her on my lap for example.
I think they are just being talkative to be honest. I don't think it is anything serious if there is food and water down and a litter tray that they can get to.
Do you talk to them? I know that sounds silly but if they mew at you when you look at them trying talking to them. I talk to Waffles and it is like a conversation because she mews back at me. I just tell her where I am going or where I have been etc etc.
Try showing them their food bowl too incase they forget - just tap the side of the bowl - that is what I do and it seems to get the message across.
Remember, you are their mum now too and their main playmate so they will be all over you hehe - good luck.

Re: What do you WANT!?!?!?!

Thanks, yes I do talk to them - and they have become gradually more talkative over the time I've had them, maybe it's just that.

I moved their litter tray a few days ago and I noticed last night that one of them (I suspect Peter, bless him, he's not the brightest!) has been having a wee where it used to be. He's certainly the most insistent of the two so maybe he's telling me he needs the loo and doesn't know where to go. I've tried taking him to the new place a few times now so homefully they'll pick it up.

Oh and yes the names - glad you like them - I get very mixxed reactions to say the least but they do suit them - she's a flirty little minx and he's not that smart!!!

Re: What do you WANT!?!?!?!

aaaw bless them. Do you have pics?

Maybe you should try picking them up and putting them in the litter tray? I used to do that when I was getting Waffles used to the set up. I used to put her in the litter tray first thing in the morning and last thing at night and every time I saw her eating I used to wait for her to finish and then put her in the tray. She used to jump out straight away but she really got the message. Maybe you could try doing that?

Re: What do you WANT!?!?!?!

OK, will do, they already seem to be getting there - litter tray has definitely been used while I've been at work today.

Picture of them both is attached.

On another note I just set them a little treasure hunt for fun but they're not doing too well, I hope I remember where I put it all or I'll end up with bits of rotting chicken hidden all over the living room!!

Re: What do you WANT!?!?!?!

Aww, they are gorgeous. It sounds like they missed you and are suffering from a bit of separation anxiety. You are their main carer and they are still only babies bless them. Just keep reassuring them, they'll soon realise you are not gonna abandon them completely, lol. If it's any help, my adult cats that stay behind do it when we go away to cats shows, for a few hours after they are like velcro, lol. They soon settle down though
