Re: warning to anyone in caister

Again

Half of me wishes the press didn't print stories like this as there's the chance they just encourage nutters or give cat haters who didn't know about anti freeze a way to harm them.

I'd still like to pour it down the throats of those responsible.

Ian

Re: warning to anyone in caister

That is so horrible, I don't understand how anyone would want to poison a cat.

Re: warning to anyone in caister

The people who commented though not approving, could sympathise though!

If anti-freeze, difficult to understand how a 4-week-old kitten would come in contact with it, though of course this may have been a misprint!

Re: warning to anyone in caister

If she had eaten antifreeze, then fed her kitten before dieing, would that have caused the death of the 4 week old? Hwow quick does AF kill?

Still raises the question as to why the mother wasnt being kept inside. Yes poisoning a cat is bad, but the owner of the cat wasnt exactly giving the best care!

Re: warning to anyone in caister

One of mine, the fabulous and much missed Beckett, was suspected of falling foul (no pun intended) at only 18 months old to a guy who kept pigeons locally and thought using anti freeze was ok to stop cats pestering his birds. Seemingly Beckett was only one of many who died this way, 10+ over the years if the stories about him are true.

It all came to light when one of his kids started bragging at school about it to a classmate who'd lost her cat to poisoning. We could never prove he was responsible, but when challenged he just laughed in their face and said "Prove it" I didn't find out of his *habit* till long after I'd lost Beckett, which is probably just as well as I would have almost certainly kicked the **** out of him, which would have done neither myself or my other cats any good at all if I'd have been charged with gbh.

Justice (of a kind) was done when he defaulted on his mortgage and lost the house along with his beloved pigeons as he couldn't take them with him to the rented accomodation he found.

one of the many reasons my gang are indoor only is the local 'pigeon guy' - he has threatened to shoot Mabel who admittedly ate around £3,000 worth of his racing birds - on the other hand he left them loose around the village even at night and several roosted in the conifer at the bottom of our garden. Mabel was feral at time.
