Still raises the question as to why the mother wasnt being kept inside. Yes poisoning a cat is bad, but the owner of the cat wasnt exactly giving the best care!

Yes, of course GM. My mistake. For some reason I though the kitten was unrelated to those who died! If veterinary help is sought early, soon after ingestion then ( before it causes kidney failure ) then it's generally reversible. Interestingly enough it's not the actual ethelyne glycol which is toxic but the harmful end-products created through the cat metabolising it that pose the serious risk. Once this happens and kidneys are involved then the prognosis is very poor.
