Last night OH went through to the kitchen and noticed a puddle on the floor just under a cupboard to the left of the sink. He asked if the sink was leaking, I went through and said no (it used to leak but ran down the floor directly under the sink due to the run in the floor), got some kitchen roll and mopped it up and it was cat pee It was about a metre away from the litter tray.

I then came through this morning and it was there again, went through again before I took the dog out at about 10.15 and there was nothing there but was another puddle when I got back from our walk. All in the same place.

I'd understand if the litter tray was dirty but it wasn't - I'd only just cleaned it out about an hour or so before the pee arrived on the floor last night and there was nothing in the tray when I found the pee. I've cleaned that area of the floor each time but I'm guessing whichever cat it is can still smell it and is continuing to go there. What is best to use to clean it?

I don't know which one it is as I haven't caught them yet but I'm guessing it is Spencer as he was quite quiet last night after we found the initial puddle and didn't really come for any cuddles (very unlike him), he just sat under one of the chairs in the kitchen and when he did come through to the living room he was sat in the corner looking at the wall He is still eating like a horse though and getting very excited when the food comes out the cupboard.

He seems to still be pooing in the litter tray though? Well I'm guessing he is as there was 2 poos this morning when I got up and another 2 when I emptied after been on a walk and there's no way Skye could have all those poos.

clean it with bio washing powder solution - if he seemed unhappy - do you think he has an infection?

Thanks will try that. He didn't seem unhappy as such - he was playing etc before he did it last night and then he was sort of quiet, like he knew he'd done wrong? But then did it again...

Just an observation,do you know how often either kitten pee's in a 24 hour period.Could that be 2 kittens peeing,or one peeing more than usual.As 3 pee's in such a short time, am I right in thinking approx 12 hours, seems a lot for one kitten.

They do seem to pee quite a lot...I can empty the tray at say 8am after doing it at about 10pm and there can be 4 or 5 pees in it.

I will try and see if I can catch whoever it is this evening as I will be in all night from just after 5pm. In all day tomorrow too until tea time so will keep an eye on them.

If it is both of them it is still confusing why they are doing it there and not in the tray. Also, Skye was in the tray last night after the incident. She likes to go in when I've just cleaned it out

Meeko has never been a frequent piddler twice,occasionally three times in 24 hours is all,and now with the Oko plus I can count exactly how often I dont remember how often my other cats did so maybe its Meeko who should be piddling more

I use OKO too so always know how many there are. They definitely go more than 3 times a day and it is usually more at night than during the day - they seem to spend most of the day sleeping and then go a little mad and come to life at night
