Talking to my breeder...

Rang my breeder today to arrange seeing the babies tomorrow and we started talking about food.

I told her I used Animonda Carny and Bozita for Willow, and would introduce it to the kittens when I get them.
Straight away, while I was on the phone, she opened up zooplus, created an account and ordered a load of both so she could start them on it straight away

She also recommended using newspaper pellet litter as it doesnt stick to their fur, which I am finding is happening with Willow - so any brands anyone can recommend for me?

Re: Talking to my breeder...

The only thing about newpaper pellet litter I am dubious about is odour control. I'd be interested to hear of anyone elses recommendations too.

I've been very impressed with OKO so far apart from the mess off their paws.

Re: Talking to my breeder...

Thats excellent Willow. I'm glad that she is going to introduce them to the food that you would be giving them too. Don't know about the newspaper pellets my sister got some but hasn't started using it yet as there is still quite a bit of the old stuff left to use.

I use worlds best cat litter as it's all natural and can be flushed down the loo which I think is great as I don't have to waste plastic bags and so more environmentally friendly. I find the odour control is pretty good with it too and it doesn't get stuck to Jaffe's fur. I have to say I swear by it!

Re: Talking to my breeder...

I've used recycled newspaper litter in the past, it was called Yesterday's News. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it masked odours and how absorbent it was. I prefer clumping litters which I why I use OKO, but if I couldn't get any OKO for whatever reason, I'd certainly consider this one.

Does your breeder include a sample of the litter in her kitten pack? (mine did) Might be worth an ask to see if she does, or if not, at least you could ask her what brand she uses?

Try Nature Gold

It's not paper based, but it's pelletted just the same. It's the same stuff as OkoPlus, but the pellets do not stick to fur and don't track half as badly.

Re: Talking to my breeder...

That's great, it was much easier moving Leo and Lottie onto Arnolds food because Taylorbaby had already fed them Grau so used that at first them introduced some others we use in our rotation. Little buggars have all decided to turn their noses up at Grau now except the pollack one
