Little bit of background: Spot, my male Bengal kitten wouldn't eat wet food at all when I first got him, which wasn't the end of the world, but something I wanted to change. His sister, however, loved her wet food, although she wouldn't touch any of the lovely Applaws kitten chicken food that I bought for her, so I was about to put the unopened tins aside to give to the cat rescue. Then all of a sudden, Spot started to eat the Applaws
I'd bought 6 tins from Zooplus initially, but when I went to order some more, they'd sold out, so I bought some from Pets at Home two days ago.
A few minutes ago, all 5 started nagging for their tea, so I gave the adults their Grau and Lula her food, but when I went to open the Applaws kitten that I'd got from PaH, it looked a lot darker than the other stuff and a completely different consistency/texture. I smelt it (yum! not!) and it did not appear to be "off" so I put it on the floor and - surprise, surprise - Spot wouldn't eat it
I still had one tin left that I had got from Zooplus and a couple of tins from PaH, so I decided to compare!
They look very similar on the tin at first glance, but when you look closer, not only does the Zooplus have other languages on the tin, but also the ingredients are rather different:
Zooplus: Chicken 49%, Eggs 20%, Tuna Liver 5%, {small amounts of different oils that I can't be bothered to type out} and Cooking Water 18%.
Pets at Home: Chicken 50%, Eggs 5%, Tuna Liver 3%, {oils} and Cooking Water 39.4%.
Who would have thought there would be such a difference with what you would think is the same product?! Spotty obviously noticed it and was not impressed

(though Robbie is now happily grazing on it as he didn't like his Grau, so they had a swap, he's not a big wet food fan either, unfortunately).
