Cool Bathing kittens / cats

Hi all

Our kitten will be 11 weeks old on Thursday .. I know she cleans and looks after herself but I was wondering if we should wash / bathe her?

How can we introduce her to water for a bath or do you think it's best that we leave her to wash herself?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Re: Bathing kittens / cats

I suppose it depends on how dirty she gets hun xx

if not so much i wouldn't bother - it's usually just show cats that have to get accustomed to bathing (or more like owners have to get accustomed to getting soaked/meowed at and swiped at, pmsl xx)

Unless something really messy happens (eg. bad diarrhoea or a close encounter with car engine oil) leave well alone - the only cats that really get bathed are longhairs before shows.

Re: Bathing kittens / cats

I only ever bathe mine if they get mucky from the litter tray - other than that, they keep themselves nice and clean.

Re: Bathing kittens / cats

My friend takes her oriental into the shower with her and holds him. He doesn't mind it at all I'd need an ambulance on stand by if I tried that
