Re: Does your cat want to be on the kitchen table?

Molly hasn't worked out how to get on the kitchen units YET!

BUT the dining room table is a good place to sleep, and the fridge is her property ..... in her eyes anyway

Loving the pic. of Molly taking an interest in what you have in your fridge

I think she is making sure that you have adequate stocks of her type of food

Re: Does your cat want to be on the kitchen table?

Yes, my cats are on the kitchen table quite a lot as they're fed there, or the dogs would steal their food

Melin doesn´t go on the kitchen counters, it would be useless to stop him anyway as I´m away at work all day. He loves viewing the world from the dinning room table, so I just cover it with a plastic table cloth that I change when we want to eat there.

Re: Does your cat want to be on the kitchen table?

My two go on the table as it gets the late evening sun for warming their little toes and they both get up on the worktops, I tried to stop them but they just persisted, I tried foil and it did nothing and I tried trays filled with water - well that just led to mess and fun for the cats, so I gave up but it's a good way to be tidy in the kitchen.

Re: Does your cat want to be on the kitchen table?

Eva and Milly don't get on the kitchen worktops. Eva did get up there a couple of times when we first had her, but we just said "no" and put her down, and she doesn't do it now. Sam does get up there occasionally because he used to be fed on the worktop to keep his food away from Milly, but since we're vegetarians, there's very rarely anything of interest to them up there. Now Sam's fed on the dining table, so keeping Milly and Eva down from there is a bit more challenging. They both know they're not allowed, but they still try it on.

Re: Does your cat want to be on the kitchen table?

I haven't got the problem of them getting onto the worktops - well not just yet anyway. I think they are too young to be able to get up there.

With the table though, it has chairs around it and it is the chairs which are making it easy for them to get onto the table. They do floor, chair and then table.

It is so easy for them with the chairs being there. So today am trying it with chairs facing the other way. So far, so good.

Just have to keep remembering to turn the chairs around after we get off the chairs.

Our house is back to front - where the first room you can get into from the front door is the kitchen so my lot love the worktops as they can see out onto the cul de sac and get the morning sun.

As the sun moves round they head for the conservatory and roast in there

I love how my two start in bedroom for morning sun, sitting room for lunchtime early afternoon sun kitchen for late afternoon sun, they are like little furry sundials and you can guesstimate the time as to where they are sunning themselves
