Re: Grrr some people ....

i hate people that say a pet is "bad". they think a pet is like a robot with a remote where you turn on/off.
i know a guy that got a dog recently and the poor dog has no mental (and little physical) stimulation at all, of course its bold and destroys everything, its bored and is looking for attention! and what happens next? the dog ends up being locked into its kennel because it was bold
people like that should get fish instead
just wait until the kitten starts scratching the furniture, I'm sure it will find a new home soon, hopefully a better one

Re: Grrr some people ....

That's sad. Could you at least take the kit temporarily and then you find it a new home - as at least that way you could make sure it would go to loving home?

Hmmm no they shouldnt get fish instead. Fish actually take alot of work and dedication and the water quality has to be spot on or the fish suffer and die.

They should have no living breathing creatures because they obviously dont have a compassionate bone in their body.
With 5 kittens at the mo we are constantly fetching the kittens from the curtains or the nets. Its kinda funny because OH is the tall one so he has to keep getting up and down to get them off.

i hate the fact animals have become so disposable. Persoanlly i think every animal should be mircochipped and if it is found to be in a bad way then the owners should be slapped until they see the error of their ways.

So sick of reading that pets have to be given up for rehoming just because the family are bored or the kitten is now a cat and no longer cute. Some people are just *******

Re: Grrr some people ....

It makes me so angry reading story like that how can they think a 12 weeks old kitten naughty or have they just realise the kitten now depending on them and of course the are both too self involves that they cannot give love an attention to anyone else .

We had our Samson when he was 12 weeks old we've actually sort the house to accommodate him, he has plenty spaces to play and play non stop each of us give him love and attention individually he is so spoilt, he's brought so much love and joy into our house especially after loosing our beloved and not forgotten Coco of 20 years old.

So true Marie. Our little Herbie has brought an extra layer of joy into our lives. We've had a very stressful few weeks for various reasons and looking forward to Herbie has kept us going. Now Herbie is here, we find his antics and the interactions with his brothers the most precious thing. It lightens us up and stops us from getting bogged down in problems and stuff going on in our lives. There is nothing more relaxing and fun than hanging out with our 4 lads. They are our therapy! It saddens me that some people, even some pet owners, don't even begin to get that.

Re: Grrr some people ....

This is why they should introduce licensing for all animals, and it should be law that this is checked by the person or breeder that sells you the cats.

Then all pets Micro chipped as part of the buyers cost, and as Part of gaining your licensing you will agree to "Any Day / Any Time" spot checks on your animals, which the Buyer or Seller must register. If you are found to own or be responsible for a pet that is not Micro chipped, unless medical reason prohibits it... then a Straight Up Fine of £2000 unless you can prove you just got the animal not less then 2 days ago, or have proof of a vets appointment to have it done.

If on a Spot check the Animal cant be found or Seen ( I know the cat could be out) then you will be cautioned until the animal is found or returns home and is shown to be in good health and has a good environment and living standards.

Fines of up to £10,000 but not less than £2000 should imposed as well as loss of Social housing, Forced to re-mortgage & prison in the event of owner mistreating the animal to any degree, and of-course evidence of willful mistreatment.

Owners with good intentions but are doing badly, should be given free lessons for caring for their animal, and then put on probation with failure to comply leading to Loss of the animal and a license ban and a possible fine.

If your Animal passes on or is re homed this should be noted and registered so that the Microchip tallies up, thus people cant just keep saying it ran away.

The chip could also be used to note an animals vet visits, the frequency and what injections etc have been given.

I know all of the above is draconian and there are plenty of loop holes, but I feel that people need to be held responsible for their choice of keeping a Pet of any Kind.
I would have no problems with the RSPCA or whoever knocking on my door at 3am in the morning, wanting to do a spot check.
If your not doing anything wrong, you got nothing to worry about, aside from a minor inconvenience.

Its not try before you buy, There is no cooling off period or Model upgrade. Its a living feeling being and must be treated with love respect and understanding.

Re: Grrr some people ....

Some people don't realize that having a pet requires a commitment & patience. I suppose they expect the pet to sit in a corner looking pretty all day when the reality is they need nurturing. Yes they can test your patience sometimes much like children, but if you're a real animal lover you deal with the problems & it doesn't occur to you to get rid of them! I'd be lying if I said I don't get annoyed sometimes with Molly, but most of the time I find her naughtiness rather amusing. If you're a real animal lover, the good far outweighs the bad.

Re: Grrr some people ....

I'm glad im not the only one that feels this way! I would love to take this kitten on, but i work full time, and i dont feel i have the time for another kitten unfortunately I know this sounds awful, but i feel he could be better off somewhere else ... just not there! I already have 3 cats, 2 of which being kittens, and my eldest only being 1 yr 4months old ... so all still kittenish lol. I really wanna take him on, i just dont think itd be fair on him! I suggested giving him cardboard to chew and scratch (we work in a shop, so she can get them free) ... she said itd go through her .. grrrr. My 3 at one point or another have bitten, scratched me or my furniture and stilldo at times! I would never ever consider getting rid of these!! I love them to bits! And turst me, My miley was a nightmare kitten but now she listens to what i say, and she iswell behaved I'm glad i stuck it out
