Do neutered boys still get 'urges'?

Over the last week or so, on varying occasions, myself and my OH have walked in to find Pandora mounting Eowyn. He's neutered which I always believed stopped their wish to 'mate', she's 4 and 1/2 months old and as far as I'm aware hasn't started to call yet (is she even old enough?)

I realise I could sound like a complete numpty here!

I'm going to be no help at all, but all I could visulise is a man having a vasectomy and it stopping his urges!

Re: Do neutered boys still get 'urges'?

I think she is technically old enough to call yes.

My boys have never exhibited any behaviours like that but they have never had contact with female intact cats.

And Jenny, what vasectomies have you known of where the mans testicles are fully removed :P

How old was he when he was neutered though? I know you have bred litter(s), was he the father?

A cat which has mated before and been neutered later will exhibit different behaviours to a cat neutered at an early age.

He wasnt allowed out before his neuter and no he hasnt fathered anything. Although as my daughter says he is the perfect step father

And i am not a breeder my cat had kittens. She is booked in for Thursday so it cant happen again. My darling son decided giving her cheerios was a good idea on Friday the planned day of her spay.

Sorry I confused you with someone who had bred two litters to show her children the workings of it all. Apologies for confusing you with another.

Re: Do neutered boys still get 'urges'?

Possibility is though that he got out when he was still unneutered and mated Storm mated with a queen (ex stud) but she sadly lost the kittens due to other complications, even after Storm was neutered and we brought Benji home he tried to mount Benji, and Benji is nowhere near a female may I tell you He still has a love-affair with the bathroom rug, which he drags through the flat to keep with him and I have caught him having a wierd love-in session with it
