Cat Litter - Clumping, Non-Clumping, Supermarket?
So, I have been looking online as I purchased a load of tinned food from ZooPlus, and after looking at their Litter, then I find it to be massively over priced, I think.
What do you use for your pet? I did try Asda Smart Price, but found it to resemble concrete, so I pay the extra £1 per bag or so and get the Tiger stuff which seems to be much better. I am sure Tiger is 7Kg for £3 odd. Maybe it is 7L :s . I am neglecting to try anything more expensive as the cats seem to be alright with it and so do I. What do you use? How much is it? Where do you purchase from? Last edited by anotheruser; 15-09-2011 at 05:09 PM.. |

Re: Cat Litter - Clumping, Non-Clumping, Supermarket?
I used wilkinsons lightweight cat litter its £2.99 for 14ltrs and I find it is ok. I have used it for the the better part of 4 years and it keeps most smells in buts not the best. I pick out any solid waste as soon as it is done and clean the litter fully once a week. I do top up with fresh litter tho as my older cat is a fussy so and so. The bag will last me about 3-4 weeks depending on how much I top up in 1 large litter tray. I have tried changing her over before onto wood based pellets but she was having non of it.

I personally like a wood pellet little from a local company in Devon called Natures Own, I pay about 7 pounds for 30L. I found my kitten tracking the clay litter all over the place.

Re: Cat Litter - Clumping, Non-Clumping, Supermarket?
I use Oko plus / cats best from Zooplus - I changed from it once chick crumbs became less economical due to postage costs - I have to say that it is the cheapest thing I have ever used in the long run - I take out the clumps and poos and then only do a full change/ tray wash (where I even save the unused bits) about every 4-6 weeks. I have two trays and 3 cats. If the tray gets mucky I transfer all the litter into another tray, wash the tray and then transfer it back - 1 £8 bag from pets @ home (it's cheaper on Zooplus though) lasts 6 weeks. So that's about £1.50 a week - definitely cheap.
