Getting Paranoid...

Arthur is normally waiting for me by the back gate or in the hallway when I come home from work. We have a cuddle on the bed and then I get on with dinner etc. It has been like this pretty much since we got him.

Last night he wasn't waiting for me so after an hour or so of waiting I started to do the rounds of the estate filled with worry. After about 30 minutes of goody drop shaking and caling he came trotting down the street like nothing had happened.

Same thing again tonight...no sign of him at all. I have gone out but he hasn't appeared.

My guess is he is enjoying the last throws of decent weather and has found something more interesting than his normal routine for now. He does love being outside, especially at night, but is quite happy to be a house cat in the evenings and at weekends when we are home.

I also know this is part of the deal of letting my cats go outside i.e. I wont know where they are every minute of their day. I wouldn't want to keep them in as they seem to love the freedom to choose but...

Arthur's new antics are turning me into a paranoid wreck!

Re: Getting Paranoid...

Husband saw him before he went to work at around 3pm so that makes me feel better.

We're going have dinner then go out for another walk if he hasn't come back.

Why oh Why do we cat slaves put ourselves through this!!

This is why, when I am out, the cats are at home.

If anything happens to them, I'm home for them. If they go awol, I know EXACTLY the last place and time that I saw them.

At night, everyone is home and locked in.

Having lost a free-roaming cat many years ago, (he jumped into a car boot and the driver didn't realise) I vowed never again.

Cats are usually creatures of habit....mine have been anyway....but every now & again they'll do something different just to keep you guessing!
