Re: Letting a cat out

She can't of been spayed that long ago hun? Have her stitches even dissolved yet?

To be honest I wouldn't let her out until her fur has started to grow back and she has a good coverage ... with it getting colder now

By the time that happens she may well of settled enough and not be as bothered about going out if you're lucky!

She was done a week ago, and no not completely, that's why I was asking as I wasn't sure and didn't want to let her out if it wasn't right too. I'm gonna try and make her an indoor cat to be honest.

Only a week thats far to early to even consider letting her out as the wound will still be fragile and easily opened up if not careful.

I know, she isn't going out at the moment (although she keeps trying, she's not succeeding), just wasn't sure when was right too :-)

Good luck letting her out Malibu, just a thought....how are you going to work out access for her to come in & out if your other cats are indoor cats! ((without them escaping))

I actually want her to stay in but I wasn't sure if it could be done since she is used to being outside, however if not then i'd get a flap that is microchip activated I guess, that will be the last resort though. Lola can go out but she actually chooses not to and Salem would have no road sense what so ever so he definately will never be going out.

^^^^^^ Abby came to us from a rescue having been found heavily pregnant in a shed. We know nothing of her history prior to that. She wants to go but has been told that she is on a hiding to nothing. She will be an indoor cat and that is not up for discussion. If we can find a good way of cat proofing the garden, or sorting out a run, then she'll get out but that is the only way.
