Open mouthed purring?

Is this normal haha!

I have only ever had my two exotic boys and they just purr with their mouths shut. My new raggie boy purrs in a really throaty way with his mouth open and makes such a funny 'chattery' noise. is this normal? haha

I think he's secretly a dog, he gives paw for treats lol

Hahah I shall have to make him do it on command!
As for him needing too much attention when left alone, I was at work all day and he has been totally normal when i got home. He clearly just needs some cat friends Mush is obsessed with his tail lol

Re: Open mouthed purring?

Meeko purrs very quietly and definitely with his mouth shut.He makes some odd chattering noises though and as for giving a paw for treats He gives one paw, then two, then if you dont get the hint he stretches full height up your leg and yells in your face.

Re: Open mouthed purring?

Suki used to do this when we used to stroke/massage her around her cheek and whisker area, her whiskers would almost be pointing forward and then purring but it sounded as tho it was coming from way down low

Re: Open mouthed purring?

Gwennie and Jezebel do this, and it looks like Blake is going to do it too. It's awfully cute, isn't it?
