Kitten Libby naughty hiding

Hello all

I have not been on for a while, so I just thought I would give you all an up-date on my Libby who is now 11 weeks old ish.............. she is growing so fast catching up to the size she should be. She has a new bed...( the box had to go ) and it's pink!! very pretty and posh and she loves it. Libby and Loulou seem to be getting closer everyday which is so lovely to see. Libby has even given the puppy a kiss and will sleep next to her which again is so lovely to see, I am sure they will grow up best friends.

The latest antics happened yesterday... my husband retuned from work and was very excited to meet this new kitten which he has heard about everyday since I rescued her and what did she do............ only shot up the chimmely in the spare bedroom... by the time I dragged her out ( yes it is boarded up now ) she was black and in walked my husband........................... there stood a black sooty kitten looking wild...... Ha.. then I had to bath her which did not go down very well at all and she looked more like a ferret than a beautiful kitten, after loads of towel drying she then went into hiding so my husband actually got to see her late last night and apparently it's love!!!! so much for all my love and efforts I have been dropped like a sack of potatoes..... she loves him and vice versa!!!!! honestly....

I have attached a few pic's of my sooty kitten..

love from us all

Re: Kitten Libby naughty hiding

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Loulou is really not happy with this puppy, she has stayed out of what ever room the puppy is in. We have now put the puppy in a little room off the kitchen which is centre of the house and popped up a baby gate, cats kitten and other dogs can view puppy, puppy can view other pets.
At last the puppy has stopped the endless crying which freaked Loulou out and slowly Loulou does go for a little nosey through the baby gate when all is quiet and night.

Tell me if I am right or wrong here, since the puppy's arrival Loulou has been going out for longer periods of time with me having to go out to find her to bring her in, so therefore she has avoided the issues... so should I keep Loulou in for a few days, purely to give her time to except the changes in the house?

I think when Loulou realises she is able to handle this puppy the way she can handle my other dogs (one being a terrier who wanted to kill Loulou when they first met) they all have respect for each other, well no that is a lie, Loulou is the boss! I am sure she will come round.

any help welcomed.

Re: Kitten Libby naughty hiding

It sounds as if all is going moderately well in your household
I don't have a clue about dogs and cats together but I think Loulou will come round in her own time and I wouldn't try to push things with her and the puppy.
Libby sounds as if she is so entertaining - naughty little girl but oh my doesn't she look so gorgeous even covered in soot

Re: Kitten Libby naughty hiding

I think the fact that you have to go and get LouLou in is proving to her that she is still important to you. I think she is testing you a bit.

However, the fact that she IS coming into the house means that she is not that unhappy with the puppy but is making her objections known in the only way a cat knows how....

I'm sure time will bring her around and she'll be back to bossing everyone about in no time.

Thank you moggyBaby, interesting way of thinking about Loulou's reactions to the puppy................ ummmmmmmmmmm she is spoilt rotton and probably has seen the ammount of time used towards this puppy...... I will up the pamper for Loulou.
