Re: Cat Peeing and Defacating Indoors

Buy the feliaway spray and spray it near the litter tray to encourage the cat to use it. £15.99 at ZOOPLUS (£23.99 IN OUR VETS!!)

Re: Cat Peeing and Defacating Indoors

Has anyone used Felaway? We have a limited budget and given the cost of her meds I don't want to pay for something ineffective.

Thanks for all your answers especially Doolally. Your post made me smile!

Re: Cat Peeing and Defacating Indoors

I am using it at the moment, as my 3 yr old Kizzi is having a nervous episode, with flickering on her backbone, and rushing around. I spray the bed before she goes to sleep for the night and it seems to be working , she is much calmer now.
Its used for encouraging cats to use litter trays, scratch poles etc, as the smell is attractive to them. Buy off internet as mentioned above, comes within 3-5 days xx

Thanks will give it a go. If that doesn't work we may just have to get laminate flooring!

Re: Cat Peeing and Defacating Indoors

Just caught your comment PBateman. You are dead right. She is a very timid cat and was our furry baby for 6 years before our boys arrived! The house is a lot Louder now and I can see why she wouldn't be keen on the change.

Re: Cat Peeing and Defacating Indoors

I think it might be cheaper than Zooplus from Pet Supermarket - or sometimes there is a bargain on Amazon or Ebay too. Pet Supplies & Pet Accessories | PET SUPERMARKET? Online Pet Store (EDIT: for Feliway, I mean, and you need the plugin diffuser not just a refill, to get you started, after that if you continue to use it you can just get refills)

Really hope you can figure it out, poor girl, she'll be happier if she can pee somewhere that gets her some praise and rewards too!

Maybe people here could confirm if a litter like Oko would be good to use if you had to have a shallow tray and a shallow amount of litter in it, oko's is very absorbant.

Re: Cat Peeing and Defacating Indoors

Just an update. We tried a much larger tray as Poppy is pretty chunky. She hasn't peed on the carpet since and her poos are getting closer to the mark. We have also locked up her cat flap so the neighbour's cat can't break in. She barely went out anyway. She seems a lot more content.

Many thanks for your help (-:
