Growing back fur

Jango is bouncing back to full health He has been chasing around the living room like a psycho (despite vet orders to take it easy... you try and control a 5 month old kitten!!) and looks like himself again

He had put on 210g over the weekend and is now back to weight he was when this all started The vet will discharge him wednesday so long as there are no new problems (which we are not anticipating)

Now my question is this...

I was really hoping to show Jango and Starbuck (my new baby from the end of September) in the supreme at the end of November. As this is still a way away I was thinking it would be okay so long as Jango gets no new problems. As I have already paid the registration I am still toying with a "maybe". If he has any new problems suggesting its a long term problem, not just an infection, obviously we won't be going anywhere near the supreme.

But is there ANY chance Jangos fur would have grown back by then? lol. He had his belly, neck and front paws shaved. As the supreme is close to where we live I was hoping to go along as he is not a great traveller to shows further away.

PS I am asking now as if people say probably not I am going to try and pull out and get a refund on the entry fees!!

Re: Growing back fur

Abby had her spay op on 2nd June and it has only just been this week that it looks almost normal again. You can still see where she was shaved though if you look hard enough. Abby is a semi-long hair.

I hope that helps.

Re: Growing back fur

So pleased to hear he's getting back to his old self!

Regarding his fur, I should think he'll be okay by mid November - although he may have thicker fur than I'm imagining. Pyrrha had her spay on the 25th July and I'd say in the next week she should be back to fully grown.

Re: Growing back fur

I think probably not - when Minnii (Birman) had her belly shaved it took about 3 months to grow back to full length - but then Jango is a kitten and may have a bit shorter fur - I reckon the fur on his leg will grow back - but maybe not his neck or belly.

Re: Growing back fur

I'm only showing in the pet pedigree as Jango has teeny tiny marking faults (so frustrating - lol, I love him anyway ) and Starbuck isn't show quality. So does that make a difference or will we still be marked down? Or is this indeed something that will disqualify all together?

How terribly rude of me...... *Moggybaby slaps hand for her bad manners....* I am SO glad that he is back to behaving like the little mad baby that he is. Give him mega-big huggles from all the happy people at Moggy Towers!!!
