Never, ever, ordering tinned food from Zooplus again

It's been terrible before, but I've had some well packaged non - food related deliveries from them since I last ordered food so thought I'd give them another go. I don't know why I bothered!

My order has just arrived, I'm surprised the smaller items are still in the box because the holes were so big.. Then there was the stench, you guessed it - some of the tins had burst during delivery and my order had actual real live maggots crawling around in there, plus the numerous flies that have already hatched.. I've got rid of the box outside and it's literally all I can smell in my house. I physically want to be sick.

Well and truly disgusted this time around.. Never again

Re: Never, ever, ordering tinned food from Zooplus again

Eww! Thats terrible! I dont blame you!

I've so far had three large deliveries of tins via them with no problems, well packed with that big bubble wrap stuff! We use Zooplus alot, in the past, hutches, dog beds, dry food, tinned food, all well packed & super fast delivery!

Possibly the carrier to blame aswell ((parcel force)) unless the stuff is really badly packed aswell? I probably wouldn't of signed for the parcel if it had big holes in etc.

Hope you get a full refund, get taking some photos & email / phone them to get it sorted.

Thats just awful.Hope you have photographed it.What was the delivery man thinking of though. To actually deliver a package in that state is shocking.Did he comment on it when you signed for it.

Re: Never, ever, ordering tinned food from Zooplus again

Wow! I know zooplus is bad but I am now thinking myself very lucky for not having to deal with maggots At least you know their customer service on returns/refunds is pretty well handled... not much consolation, but better than having to fight a battle there.

Re: Never, ever, ordering tinned food from Zooplus again

I've had a lot of dented tins in the past but nothing on this scale! Maggots! Zooplus amaze me in that they really must have a large volume of complaints about damaged goods but the packaging has never changed from day one!

Hope you had your camera handy!

Re: Never, ever, ordering tinned food from Zooplus again

OMG! I am really surprised at this. I regularly order from Zooplus (I have a delivery due soon!) and I normally order tins of food without a second thought. In fact, there's certain tinned foods that you can only get from Zooplus in this country such as Grau. I must say that I've never had a problem with ordering tinned food from them, and I never normally have a problem with any of the packaging. The only poor packaging I can remember is when I ordered a ceiling-high cat tree a few months ago, one of the two boxes was a little damaged, though thankfully none of the pieces of the cat tree were .

Re: Never, ever, ordering tinned food from Zooplus again

What brand of food did u order? I have been noticing maggots in my dustbin and this had never happened before I did think it might be the cat food and now I´m worried that I might be giving Merlin food with eggs or something?
