Re: How do you feel if your cat scratches or breaks something?

We haven't lost anything valuable to any of our cats and normally they are very well behaved with the furniture.

However, our last kitten, Ollie, completely trashed our newly decorated guest bedroom. We put him in there so he had a safe space and our older girls could still have the run of the house whilst we introduced him, however he didn't like being in there much and literally took to climbing the walls the few times he was alone.

I have to admit I was annoyed at first but accepted very quickly that it was just 'one of those things' to cat ownership. We lost Ollie when he was 7 months old after an RTC, we will decorate the room again eventually but for now its like he's still with us so I don't think of the damage as a bad thing anymore.

Re: How do you feel if your cat scratches or breaks something?

Kizzi has never wee'd or pooed in the house except in her litter tray, and now does her business outside and I haven't dealt with anything like that for over a year or more. She's never damaged anything, or scratched furniture, and when she jumps up to the window alcove somehow she always avoids cups of coffee, orniments etc. Lola, the kitten did run up my new silk curtains and break the joining beads on my slat blinds in one day!
