Question What will a house check be like from cats protection?

Hi, me and my dad recently moved in to our new house about 3 weeks ago, so there are still a few boxes around but nothing major, the house is very tidy (apart from the odd box being around) and the area is very quiet, also lots of other cats living around this area. Is there anything I need to do to ensure I pass this house check later? Many thanks, Gemma.

They are not checking tidiness, but suitability for safe pet care. They are making sure you have considered fully the implications of having a cat.
Relax, as long as you have thought it through practically, financially and can explain an awareness of possible dangers and how you will keep the cat(s) safe, it will be fine.
MoggyBaby and welshjet like this.

It depends on which branch it is, my house check consisted of CP woman turning up with the kittens and filling out the forms taking the money and leaving the kittens, she never went further than my kitchen and didn't ask me any questions.

I would just be yourself and see what happens, I doubt they will say no and if they do there are other smaller rescue that you can try too, good luck, have you chosen a potential cat ?

... both, of course! Unless they are somehow restricted to single cat households. Two cats will always keep each other good company and will double the pleasure of cat ownership

Ours was totally different, saw jet on wednesday, we had home visit on sunday and went back to collect him the next wed and then made the donation. On our visit i was nervous as hell as didnt know what would happen, they were fab, just talked to us in general, going though what having a cat means and the commitment of having a cat.

with Lilly we never had a home visit as we already knew them!

Unless you get an individual who is somehow at odds with the rest of the world, most of the time the home visits are there to make sure you are not going to feed the cats to other animals (or high energy children if the animal is fragile) and that the place is not running a vivisection lab.

Our was really simple, they sat and had a chat about Mitzi, checked we had food, litter, litter tray, who our vet would be. Talked a little about de-fleeing and worming and signed the paperwork.

done!
