cat missing
hi , i am new to the forum. My beloved 7 year old cat bobby went missing 5 days ago. He has been neutured and doesnt go further than our garden and the next door neighbours garden. On sunday he was very quiet and spent the night laying with his paws tucked under by the front door. Monday morning he didnt eat anything and was sitting quiet and still. Late morning he went into garden and was sick but all that came out was little clear liquid my mum saw his hair seem to stand on end. He walked off slowly and hasent come back. I am thinking the worst and am devastated can anyone give any advice or insight? Thanks

Re: cat missing
Sorry he is missing Kamy and hope he is ok.
Welcome to the forum sorry that it is due to worrying circumstances. There are a lot of knowledgable people on here and they should be along soon. Have you had no luck in searching for him locally? He may have wandered into unfamiliar territory. Hope he comes home soon Em xxxx

Re: cat missing
Hi guys thanks for your replies I have put leaflets through doors and put posters up on my road and the surrounding roads. Bobby never went far which worries me , he always was in the house or nearby . I am so mad at myself for not realizing he was ill. He seemed normal sat but quiet sun , i was saying to him sun night are you ok ? but he was purring strongly so i thought he was ok and maybe watching for a mouse. I have since read that cats also purr when thy are in pain. Next morning mum called me mon and said he had been sick a clear liquid but she didnt tell me till later his hair seemed to stand on end. By the time i went outside he had gone and hasnt come back. I think he must have felt ill and curled up somewhere and died but he was fine sat, i just cant believe he has gone i am beside myself.Do you think he was poisoned?

Re: cat missing
I have no experience in this but my hunch is the same, he's hiding away whilst ill. You need to look in every nook and cranny. Take his favourite treats with you, just in case you need to lure him out.
Thinking of you both, you must be so worried! |

Re: cat missing
Thanks for all the kind messages am worried sick and cant stop crying . Its been 6 days now we have searched our garden and looked in the neighbours gardens and the ones next to them.Do you think there is any chance of him being alive? He just never went anywhere past the neighbours, the same day he went missing i manage to lock my 10 month old baby and my keys in the car in sainsburys and had to get the fire brigade to smash the window to get in the car. So wasnt thinking straight that day or i might have noticed he hadnt come back that day sooner.

Re: cat missing
Please don't give up on him, there is every chance he could be out there somewhere, perhaps he just had an upset tummy that day and it wasn't anything sinister, people are still going away at the moment, it may be possible he strayed further than normal. Don't beat yourself up, sometimes it's difficult to be sure if they are poorly or not and they are good at hiding pain. Have our fingers and paws crossed for Bobby, I know it is difficult not to think the worst, I imagined all sorts of scenarios and a week later Scamp came through the flap at 4am and very hungry. Thinking of you and hoping Bobby is alive and well

Re: cat missing
By putting leaflets out is a good thing. Pop some round the local school, churches and shops.
Also pop one in the back of your car and the front door of your house. The more you can get the public to notice the better. My boy went missing last year for 6 weeks and by advertising in the shops and the local paper we managed to locate him. He was found in the next village. Everyone told me to not give up hope and now I am telling you the same. It is hard. I cryed and cryed till there wer no more tears to cry. I found if you can keep busy (and i am sure with a baby you will,) it might help. Try not to blame yourself. It is not your fault. Is Bobby mirco chipped? I know this is not very nice but I would give your local council a ring to see if he has been found by the side of the road. If you cannot ring yourself get your mum or a friend to do it. It is better to know than not. Try putting it on the local radio. I am sure by what you have said he is very near to you. I so hope you find him and he is ok. I really feel for you and we all have our fingers and paws crossed for you and Bobby. Keep us up dated xx
