Male cats - spraying?

Do they spray when they feel threatened? Spencer came out the room but Benny chased him up the hall and I heard Spencer hiss and he came running back down the hall. Benny smelled something on the carpet and stayed there for a while sniffing then came alone. I went up the end of the hall and there is something wet on the carpet...and it stinks! Smells a bit like stinky cheese if I'm honest.

Re: Male cats - spraying?

I doubt it is spray as spencer is only young its more likely anal glands being emptied as this happens when they are threatened. Good luck cleaning it up. xxx
