Went to see Jango in the vets today
He was looking perkier according to the vets, but still NOTHING like my baby

he was all lethargic and subdued and his back end was covered in soap as they had bathed him as he had had violent yellow watery diarrhoea
He also had his entire belly shaved with a big mid-line scar from top to bottom and then a shaved patch on his neck and one on both front paws. As soon as he saw me he snuggled up in my arms on the table and then on my lap when I sat down with him, trying to get as close as possible.
I have spoken to the vet and all his bloods showed were dehydration (raised urea), all others were within normal limits. Neither inflammatory markers nor White Bloods Cells were raised which goes against Inflammatory bowel disease and also against Infection - which is good in itself, but not so good as it points more towards a neurological problem in the bowel. Similar to the one that manx cats get...
The full thickness biopsies won't be back until Monday, so no decisions until then.
Jango in himself is eating small meals frequently and has had no vomiting, just the diarrhoea, but is still on IV fluids.
When I had to leave I handed him back to the nurse and he suddenly perked up, wide eyed and pushed away from her, trying to get back to me... absolutely broke my heart
My fiancé is trying to get the time off work to make the 6 hour drive down from work tomorrow so Jango can come home over the weekend as I am on call. I am also desperately trying to get out of work on Sunday. Otherwise Jango will be being transferred to a different surgery on Saturday afternoon which does NOT make me happy at all
I just want my baby back home.... I am trying not to worry about the long term and focusing on the here and now. I joined the megacolon yahoo group and looked at the advice. Sadly all the things they advise I was in fact already doing

- a water fountain to encourage hydration, high meat diet (I only feed Animoda and Grau) and possibly grain-free food (Jango mostly eats grain-free Grau as I have not rebought Animoda Carny). They discourage dry food (don't touch the stuff) and all snacks I feed are frozen dried chicken
Will keep you updated.
