Question Hi Life Kitten Food?

Hi,

We're feeding our new kitten on Hi Life kitten food which he loves.

Has anyone got any other recommendations that are as good or better for him?

Thanks

Bobbee

Re: Hi Life Kitten Food?

My cat was fed on Hi Life when he was a kitten

Hi Life is a good food and my cat, like your kitten, loved it. I think the only negative thing I found was the price. When a kitten is going through three or four pouches of Hi Life a day, it can get pretty pricey!

Have a look at A-Z of wet food for cats. There is a good range to choose from - especially due to your cat liking pate-type foods.

Some really good foods that spring to mind are: Bozita, Grau, Animonda Carny, Smilla (also has 60% meat like Hi Life, but is much cheaper according to the thread). These can be bought from zooplus if ordering online isn't a problem.

Alternatively, Pets at Home do two foods, called Complete and Purely. Complete has 49% meat content, but I believe the Purely recipes have changed recently, so not sure how the ingredients look.

There are other great foods that can be bought from the german site Floyds Pfotenshop: Floyds Pfotenshop
Mac's, Catz Finefood, Petnatur and Pfotenliebe are just a few of the high-quality foods you can find there.

Thank you for your reply. It was soooooo informative

We'll keep him on Hi Life and I'll take a look at the others you mentioned.

I don't mind paying more as I want him to have a higher meat content and he likes it too.

Re: Hi Life Kitten Food?

No problem

Oh, forgot to mention - a great many of the foods I mentioned are "adult" foods, but because they are such a high quality they are suitable for all life stages. Incidently, the Hi Life kitten and adult foods are exactly the same ingredients-wise, but are slightly different in texture (the kitten one is more "mushy" while the adult is firmer and has slightly bigger "bits" in).

We tried hi life, but it didn't seem to go down well with one of mine so switched to Nature's menu, which is 70% meat and they love it, not had a problem since

Forgot to add in Nature's Menu in my original posts - ooops! Nature's Menu can be found in Pets at Home as well.

Thanks for jogging my poor sleepy brain
