Best cat toy that costs nothing?

My two love the green tape from round the Zooplus delivery box. If I waggle it about they'll run and chase it for ages. They also love cardboard boxes. Oh and the inside of a toilet roll or kitchen roll-they like those too.

Plastic lids off bottles of springwater. Rolled up ball of tinfoil. And random scraps of paper. He's easily pleased !

Re: Best cat toy that costs nothing?

Definitely cardboard boxes.

And corks. Eva loves them, but she keeps losing them. Replacing them is in danger of turning us into alcoholics

The foil and paper wrapper off a Club biscuit, loosely scrunched up. When I get around to moving the cooker out for a clean, I will be finding several.

Nice to know it's not just my mad cat that likes stuff like that ! When I rescued him last year I bought him loads of toys but he prefers the home-made things lol

Re: Best cat toy that costs nothing?

Pringles Lids are a huge favourite with my boys, plastic straws, pens, the little White plastic bits in the middle of takeaway pizzas...

Says a lot about my eating habits eh :P

Re: Best cat toy that costs nothing?

Primark carrier bags, pens, corks ( Rosie will go up to a cork, sniff it and then make the funniest little sound before she'll play with it, as if she's saying you can keep the wine but the cork's fun ), receipts - the one in Aurelia's kicker package was extremely well loved but any will do - straws and feathers found in the garden

Re: Best cat toy that costs nothing?

A long stalk of grass, even better if it has plenty of seeds on. It costs nothing in money terms, but costs a fair amount of my time as they aren't interested unless I'm there to play with them...............truth be told tho', it's always me who starts a new game and my neighbours overgrown garden is fast running out of suitable grass now.
