What did your first cat ever look like?

My first cats were semi-long haired called Africa and Asia. They were black with really bushy tails with a white spot on their chest. Every now and then I see lookalikes and it just makes me smile.

My next door neighbour's cat Daisy looks just like my Asia and every time I see her sunning herself in my garden she takes me right back to being 8 years old

What did yours look like?

My current cat is my first cat - at the vets his description is Ginger with white paws! He's a very handsome chap, quite tall and in his youth was very stocky too. At his biggest he was over 7kg. Now he's a shadow of his formal self being a slender 3.5 kg. He's got 3-4 teeth left and his lip on the right side sags because of it but he's still gorgeous!

The first cat I remember as a child was Suki. She was a beautiful tabby She could also be viscious at times. She used to hide behind the corner at the top of the stairs and pounce on anyone that dared to walk past and she was so territorial that the dustmen used to have to knock on the door and get my mum to bring her in because she used to attack them when they triedto empty HER bin!

Dinah and Monty are our first cats. I was never allowed anything bigger than a hamster as a child!

However I loved my cousin's cat to bits and sometimes pretended she was my cat. She was a moggy, tabby and gorgeous, called Minty. She followed my cousin home from primary school one day and stayed!

My first cat was Marmaduke (Marmy), he was more human than feline and he was a medium sized short coated, dark tabby, he looked like a million other cats but he was amazing.

Re: What did your first cat ever look like?

My first cat was called Sandy .... she was mainly white, with ginger and black splodges

She was a stray that kept coming to our new house, I suppose it didn't help that I kept feeding her spam through the letterbox .... I was only 11 at the time though

Mum finally let her move in, when she realised she was pregnant, Sandy not my mum, and she never left after that

Moppet was my first cat. A ginger (or red I think is correct term) girl, which is quite rare. We bought her in the local pet shop for a fiver (back in 1988). Lovely cat and all my family still miss her!

We had two cats when I was growing up. Zippy was a huge fluffy tortoiseshell, and Pepper was a shorthaired ginger - both girls

Re: What did your first cat ever look like?

Ari is my first cat.

But the first cat of my life was a friendly stray that hung around my cousin's house when I was around 4-5 years old. He was black and skinny (like Ari) and such a great personality! The most amazing thing I remember about him was that he used the shower plughole of an unused bathroom as his toilet without ever being taught to. He wouldn't do that in the other bathrooms that we used, or in the sandbox we played in. Just that bathroom. I always felt like there was a great old soul living in that body. Maybe it's because of him I'm so into black cats.
