That sounds about right its like a emergency bit in the vets lol! Our vet is normally £30 consult but on bank holiday (we took our dog as he ripped a due claw ) he only added £40 onto the fee, but the cost of treatment was the same, so that is the vet just pop down, could go now, or I guess go in the morning hope his ok though poor thing

years ago my parents cat had the exact same thing as your describing. He also fell.

We rang the vets and it was a bank holiday and we were told to take him in straight away.
Is there no other vets in the area you could call to see what they say?

We lived in a rural area also, but didnt make a difference

We don't really trust the other vets, but even if we had to take her there they aren't open either!

They do have an emergency department that we can call, but from what Mum told them, they said it wasn't an emergency. She seems to be okay.

What i mean is could you not call one of the other vats and see if they think it would class as an emergency or not?
Like i said ours seemed ok, but the vet said to take her asap anyway.

Ohhh. Well my Mum is in bed now fast asleep... I only have the vets we're going to in the morning to call though. because we don't know what the name is for the other one.

You could google it, type in vets in (where ever u live) It l show a mapof all the vets in your area.

Could you not call?

You do have the internet though, so I am sure you could find all the vets in your area easily

All vets at this time of day will only have emergency numbers, most vets are 9-5 weekdays.

I can see you/your mother cannot be persuaded to take your cat to the emergency vet and that is a shame but please make sure they go to the vets very early in the morning. Cats are excellent at hiding pain, so if you can tell a cats in pain, its in a LOT of pain.
