Well of course pedigree kittens are nice and saleable aren't they. They turn away animals in real need and ask to remove some from breeders instead (no way are they getting their hands on mine!)

I am slightly confused Lizward. If you didn't invite the RSPCA in, how did they know that you had any kittens that you couldn't sell? Did someone report you? How else would they know?

Re: Advice RE: found cat.

I told her that over the phone because she asked how many cats I had (which I didn't tell her). Anyway the dear lady came today, I let her see my boys in their stud pens and she saw three of my outdoor cats (one only at a distance as she decided to disappear under the stud pen) and my "temporary" (I hope!!) litter of moggies, she seemed quite happy so I guess that's it for the moment.

I see but I don't understand why they contacted you in the first place to ask about your cats and litters and why they wanted to see your cats. Did you get in touch with them? Though looks like someone reported you hun.

Re: Advice RE: found cat.

Yes I was reported. The lady came to the door, I was out, she left a card asking me to call her so I did. She still wanted to come round. I told her I would not let her in and told her why but she wanted to come anyway. The complaints were rather odd including an accusation of inbreeding which is not quite what you expect the average kitten buyer to come up with but there it is. That one was particularly ironic really in view of my outcross programme. Anyway my neighbour cleans for me and it happened to be her day to come round so she was outside when the lady came and stuck up for me too which was nice.

I suppose their job description requires them to look into all allegations however bizarre and of course there are kitten buyers out there who have no idea at all how cat breeding works, as well as some no doubt who like deliberately wasting the donations that other members of the public have given.
