How much shall I be feeding?

My kitten's are 4 weeks old tomorrow, their mum is still feeding them but they are also on Cimicat as Pix wasn't producing enough (according to the vet) and they are now being fed 3 times a days with cimicat, now I'm starting to try and wean them but not sure how much wet food I should be giving them? and should I limit the Cimicat also

Hiya.

4 weeks is quite young so don't be surprised or worried if they're not interested yet, just try every few days.

Get a wet food such as Hi-Life and mix in the Cimicat to make a runny 'paste', that's how i would start in this case.

Leave out plenty, mum will eat it too, it's good to do this as the kittens learn from mum. I just feed them until they walk away from it and don't want any more. Feed 4-5 times each day at this age, reduce to 3 times by the time they are 12-13 weeks and ready to leave.

Put a little of the paste on the tip of your finger and brush it over their lips so they will taste the food.

They will eat when they're ready.
spid, Vampyria, malibu and 1 others like this.

How's Mum now Malibu? Crossed my mind yesterday. Sounds better (?) and glad to hear she's resumed feeding after her illness.
