Question New kitten crying - advice please

Hello

We brought our 13 week old kitten home at the weekend. He's a pedigree Siamese and he's the most loveable gentle and cutest ever - smile.

He is meowing and crying constantly. He will sit on our knee but cowers when you go to pick him up or stroke him. He was in a house with 6 other cats and we're wondering if he is pining for his mummy and the other kittens? We're also wondering with him being so gentle if he didn't get a look in with the other kittens when it was feeding time because he cries SO loud when he's eating.

My husband was brought up with lots of Siamese and Oriental cats and we had a Siamese who sadly died, so we are used to the breed but would really appreciate your thoughts and advice.

I'm not experience with Siamese cats but my mum said that when she brought her Burmese kitten home the first day she cried all night long . Missing her mummy too. The next day she was fine. Hang in there it does get easier

I know Siamese are renowned for being very vocal - I hope he settles soon - he may just be feeling a little unsettled and so miaowing to make sure me gets what he needs.

Re: New kitten crying - advice please

When I brought Gucci home she miowed and cried a lot, partly because of her fleas, partly because she was hungry (as she would only have milk) and partly because she missed her mum and siblings. but things do sort themselves out and yes just give her what she needs.. it'll all calm down
