Lifetime insurance - who to use?

I obviously want to have a lifetime policy for my pets but not one that only gives you a set amount (say £7,00) but once that £7,000 is spent you can't claim any more even though it's a lifetime policy. So basically I'm looking for one that pays out so much per year but is still a lifetime policy, if you get me?

I'm with Petplan and I'm pretty sure the lifetime one is £7000 per incident/claim.

I am pretty sure Petplan is a 'per year' amount, which updates when the next year comes along, and you can claim as much as you want for ongoing illnesses as long as it keeps under your yearly allowance.

Re: Lifetime insurance - who to use?

One of mine is with petplan, there was various amounts per year to choose from, obviously the higher the amount the higher the premium, but think if remember rightly there was 3 maybe 4 choices. The amount is re-instated in full evey year when you re-newed regardless of previous years claims. Obviously if you go over your yearly amount before the years up you would have to find the rest for that year yourself. Dont forget though if you are changing companies, anything on the animals records peviously claimed for or not you probably wont be covered for as they will likely say its pre-existing but that will go for any company as far as I know.
Dante and gloworm*mushroom like this.

Yes, PetPlan renews the amount every year. I only know this currently as we had to phone up about the kittens policies the other day, otherwise I'd probably have forgotten. Think ours is £4000 per year.

Re: Lifetime insurance - who to use?

One thing I would add, just double check if you phone to get a quote from them or anyone else check that it is life long cover, and that the full amount is re-instated each and every year. I have got the lifelong, but cant remember if thats because I only asked for that cover or its the only one pet plan do anyway. Some companies do more then one type so its always best to check.
