OKO Plus Litter

Now, I know lots of you rave about this on here so..sell it to me

I'm planning on using a hooded tray (does it matter if it has a filter?) and the main thing I'm worried about is the smell.

Re: OKO Plus Litter

After seeing it frequently recommended on here, I've been using Oko Plus. It still smells, it tracks quite a bit and it's not going to last me anywhere near as long as some have claimed it lasts. I clean the litter out 2-4 times a day (depending on if/when I'm home). Overall, I'm pretty underwhelmed by it.

It's not a bad litter, just nothing to rave about IMO.

Re: OKO Plus Litter

its really good for odour control, when I went away for the weekend my sister looked after the cats for me, she said "I dont know if you have changed your litter since last time but the trays hardly smelt at all when I cleaned them out." It doesnt get soggy like some litters after a few wees because it clumps really well which means you can just scoop them out.

Re: OKO Plus Litter

I prefer Nature Gold to OKO.

OKO tracks everywhere and smells more than Nature Gold.

Nature Gold is clumping, but is in pellet form so tracks much much less.

Odour control is brilliant, just scoop out the pee once a day, and poop when you can.

I mix it with wood based pellets to make it more cost effective, i love it and would recommend to anyone, i wouldn't recommend OKO due to tracking!

Re: OKO Plus Litter

Tracking isn't a huge thing for me as I hoover every day anyway due to a rather hairy dog!

Re: OKO Plus Litter

I think the key with OKO is to have a really good depth of it in the tray, I have mine a good 4 inches deep, it does has an odd smell but not a nasty smell, it does track though but not as badly as Catsan.

Yeah. It's especially noticeable with the litterbox in my bedroom; I can still smell cat wee. I was opening my window all the way and lighting scented candles in there to get rid of the smell but now the cats can jump onto my vanity stool, onto the vanity and out of the window, if they so chose so I've had to keep the window open only a small crack.

I now close my bedroom door so that they can't use that litterbox during the day (I keep them in my room at night) because of the smell. Maybe my cats have pungent wee?
