hand feeding kittens

Well as some of you know, I took in a mum and her 5 1 day old babies...since then, she has been very poorly, and we had to put her to sleep, so im hand rearing the 5 little kitties who were left behind..

They are doing so well, they love their new mummy, (not as much as their real one tho) and have taken to the lactol brilliantly...

4 of them have their eyes open now and are so gorgeous...

Re: hand feeding kittens

Sorry to hear of the loss of 'mummy' cat but you're obviously doing an excellent job with her babies. Some pictures would be nice.

Re: hand feeding kittens

That is amazing cos in the first 3 days there is NO replacement for mums milk as nothing else has the same colostrum in it. The fact that these littluns are surviving off Lactol alone is weird, its only like cows milk at the end of the day. However good on you for keeping them going, I so hope it works out for them

she had a swollen tummy, so took her to the vets and they released her wee...then she was fine..then yesterday she was lifeless...so rushed her back to the vets and they said she had a swollen tummy but it wasnt her wee...she was so ill...they said she had a virus in her tummy, which i hope the kittens havent got, they were checked and seem normal and healthy...
