The way I would look at it is.. You just taken in a cat because someone couldn't look after it. There are hundreds of cases like this and if you allow the cat to breed then how are you going to look after them, get them to good homes, etc where you know they are going to be looked after rather than given away eventually or whatever fate can reach them?

Anyway, I will stop there, because you have said you will get your cats done.. This is good .

If you are ever in a bind in the future, I think charities can help you pay for your cats to get done.

Welcome anyways.
Yeah, I think I was just living in the past a bit, back to when I was little and we had a cat, I was never aware of getting the animal "done" and since then all assumed it as natural for the male not to be done if they weren't spraying. But after the info I think it is defiantly for the best, not just for the cats but for all living here. Happier, content cats are defiantly better, and especially when I have a young child.

Re: New Female Cat - Need Help!

I got the microchip cheap as they did it while the cats were already out.

It pays to shop around; My normal vet is very close to where i live but is also expensive yet if i drive 15 minutes the vet there is alot cheaper.

Also look online alot of the vets are now putting prices online xx

Unfortunately we haven't got a car and my other half rides a motorbike so sometimes its hard to leave our town, especially with one of our lovlies in a box! But if something pops up, I'm sure asking a family member to take us will be ok.

I shall defiantly have a look online, and get some numbers ready to phone. x

Re: New Female Cat - Need Help!

It was just £10 to get my cat microchipped, but that was a special offer for "microchipping month", however, it was only £20 at other times, so not bad value for some little piece of mind
