Worth a try...

Hi there,

I'm aware this may not be the best place to look but I was hoping there may be a chance!

Me and my boyfriend have split up, and I can't afford to stay in the flat we are in. I'm looking to rent a room that allows cats in the following areas in London;
Victoria, Pimlico, Vauxhall, Stockwell, Brixton, Tulse Hill, Kennington, Elephant and Castle, Borough etc.

I know I'm really chancing it but I thought people on here obviously have animals themselves so may have a room available or would have a friend with a room going who also accepts cats.

If you want to know more about me PM me

Ems x

Didn't want to read and run, sorry I can't help but have you tried 'easyroommate' 'roombuddy' etc etc
Good luck finding somewhere, sorry to hear about your relationship x

Re: Worth a try...

Thanks hun!
I know I'm chancing it but I can't live without the boys so I have to find a place that accepts cats, I'm not on a good enough salary to pay for a flat myself. Just trying to focus on getting us sorted at the moment...

Sorry to hear about your split.

Most people I know are North London, but if you want I could ask around anyway?...

Re: Worth a try...

Are you currently in a one or two bed flat hun?

If the latter, I'd kick out the ex and get a roomie in for the spare room.

So sorry about your split - I've never regretted moving out of London but this is a moment when I do.

I'm afraid I don't know anyone in that area.

Re: Worth a try...

There are a few cat friendly shared places on Gumtree at the moment, although not quite the area you are looking for.

I'm also not in the areas you are looking at but I do rent a two bed flat and the 'spare' room is very cat friendly. In fact it's only got cat things in it... no bed etc I doubt it's what you are looking for but if you get stuck then let me know

Re: Worth a try...

Hi all,

thanks ever so much
I'm devastated at the moment, didn't see it coming really so has hit me like a tonne of bricks. It's only a one-bed, although I could rent out the bedroom and sleep on the sofabed at night I guess, but not sure people would pay to live in a flat where they couldn't always use the living room?

The reason for the areas being so perfect is because it's close and easy to get to work (Monument/Aldgate) and because all of my friends are in the area. Living in north London would take me away from the people I need at the mo Although K337 I might have to take you up on that offer if nothing materialises! I've called a few people who's pets stated pets allowed but then when calling they say no? Pretty bloody annoying as it's misleading There isn't a chance I'm parting with them though.

Re: Worth a try...

Sorry to hear that it's not going well for you . I'll need to discuss with my husband, but we have a blow up single air mattress if needed Of course, I'm not sure how long it will stay up with four boys running wild around the place but consider it a back up if you can't find anything. Will PM you with some more details.

Re: Worth a try...

Oh blimey, so sorry to hear this Em!

I have a friend who lives in Vauxhall, but I have no idea if she has any spare rooms or if indeed, it's a cat friendly rental.

All my thoughts going out to you and your boys *hug*

xx
