Angry OMG i could scream.

Right, Indi has been missing for 5 days now. Hes our Snow Bengal cat and our baby. We live on a road full of guest houses and EVERY single one of them own cats. Theres bloody loads, you dont realise until you go knocking on doors its a good way to get to know your neighbours and find you have a common interest and love of cats!

So, my OH went to the guest house and bottom of our road and the man that answered just started shouting at him saying he hates cats, if he sees Indi in his garden he will kick him and set his dogs on him?!?! my OH wanted the chin him, and to be honest im bloody proud of him for holding it together because if i had been there i would have smacked him. What a discusting attitude to have, especially as he owns pets. He was bitter a vile. He said "its not the first time you have lost your cat is it, maybe you want to sort that out" and that "hes fed up of cats shi***g in his garden. Theres got to be about 20 cats living on this road. He wouldnt even look at the photo of Indi.

We have told all the other neighbours about his attitude to our feline friends and they are not best pleased. Think we should collectively stick cat poo in his front door

Good news though, a hotel up the road said he has been sitting on their window will at 6.30pm every day for the last week and she thinks hes been fed up there by someone. So shes going to ring me as soon as he shows up again so i can run up there. Feel better for having some hope to cling to and to know he is at least still alive.

But yeah, sorry for the rant, it just made my blood boil! x

I hope you get Indie back safely
Sad to say there are a lot of cat hating people out there Another reason for having indoor cats

Re: OMG i could scream.

Sorry your cat is missing but whilst I don't condone the man wanting to kick your cat, I can fully understand his frustration if his garden is being used as the local communal litter box, how would you feel if random dogs came and shat in your garden every day ?

My Mum's garden which is her pride and joy is being ruined by the local cats because every house around her has cats and because my parents don't, they all crap in her flower beds, she has now invested in a sonic cat scarer and it does seem to work, but a neighbour has moaned at her because she feels it cruel to which my mum disagreed politely, but shoving cat poop through his letter box will really help the situation

Re: OMG i could scream.

Thank you. I would LOVE to keep them indoors. Infact we did for the first year as we lived in a top floor apartment. We have since moved to the ground floor and have a back garden. All three only go into next doors garden and stay very close and ALWAYS come back when we call them. But this time Indi has done one. Think he feels put out by our new puppy.
He is impossible to keep indoors. Even considered putting him in a harness and hooking him up in the garden, But he howls like a wild animal and to be honest acts like a wild animal. They are all so much happier with outdoor space and seem healthier. Just a risk with ar@#holes like that living on the road x

Re: OMG i could scream.

I'm sorry to hear he's missing, and about your run in with that guy.

But not sure if you know that Bengals are not supposed to be let outside to roam As you say he acts like a wild animal ... that because Bengals are a very new breed and have been bred with ALC (Asian Leopard Cat). So are more likely to revert to their natural traits when left to fend for themselves outdoors.

When he comes home, and I hope he does ... might be worth considering an outdoor run for them

Re: OMG i could scream.

What a bloody grumpy b*stard! Just wait until the day he loses his dog and needs help, he'll then regret being so nasty. I hope you get your cat found, good luck xxx

Oh i completely understand that. It was just the guys attitude and tbh his garden is a dump anyway lol. Hes rude according to his guests, has loads of bad reviews on trip advisor lol - yes i looked lol.
I don't really have a problem with those cat scarer things as i feel its a more humane way to keep cats out your garden, compared to actually physically kicking them. Our cats use a litter tray anyway and only go out for an hour at a time, so i dont think ours wouldn't be the perpetrators as this place is right down the road.

Arn't there laws against setting your dog on cats? x

If we had the outdoor space, we would believe me. I know a fair bit about Bengals as a i know a breeder. Hes more like a dog then a cat anyway, bloody intelligent and always looking for a way out the house.

Last time he went missing was my hen night, a bridesmaid left the door open and he just left. When we were in the top floor flat. Was going to cancel the honeymoon if he hadn't got back in time. We found him 5 days later in a right mess x

Re: OMG i could scream.

My cat's (males) have known to go missing for a week or two, one even up to three months. They always came back. I don't like to hold them inside if they are not interested in it. They, as we, make their own choices and their own luck.

I might understand this man's frustration but surely that doesn't excuse his vile outburst in response to a simple request about a missing cat? I mightn't like it if dogs went in my garden but this doesn't justify me taking it out on the first dog-owner who approaches me for the same reason.
