Luna has managed to escape into the garden today she climbed out of an open window (we dont know how because it was only open a tiny bit). Cue me and dad in the garden trying to catch her. She was chasing butterflies and other flying beasties and wasnt interested in leaving the garden so we sat watching her for a while. Then I went to the toilet while Dad pottered in the garden with Luna watching. As I came back out Luna was crouched by a small wall we have in the garden and she ran to me as soon as she saw me, one of our neighbours big male cats ran past the door followed very quickly by Tom seeing him off.

so some lessons learned today.....

1) Luna can now climb out of windows
2) Male cats are interested in her (Tom isnt he has been neutered) is the first call on its way??
3) Tom went all protective anyway and Luna is enough of a baby to run to mummy. (admittedly she has battered me again this evening).

More time on her harness is obviously needed as she really enjoyed being outdoors, but she wont be out alone EVER again, my heart and blood pressure cant take it and neither can my dads legs trying to catch her.

How old is she? If she has escaped once she will do it again - cats are like that

Is she due to be spayed soon? You really don't want all that unwanted male attention. It isn't good for her or Tom.

Hey lumboo she is five months old, she is going to be spayed mid september, my vet wont do it until she is 6 months. She will be getting microchipped then too.

Im dreading her next escape attempt

Cats are so naughty! We put mesh over all our windows in case our kittens escaped in the hot spell we had in May/June and before they were neutered. It worked really well as was really simple to fix up. It ensured we still got a lovely breeze/ventilation when needed without worrying about possible escapees.

Cats are great at catching you out so you always have to be prepared especially even more so with a little girl.

if you think shes going into heat - weigh her - my vet says 6 months, i'm a teacher so cant get selected days off - last xmas hols the girls were 5 1/2 months so.. i booked them - the vet actually has a weight min, tabby was, ginger wasnt - so she had to wait till feb 1/2 term ...as it was winter neither went into heat

there was no issue if above weight if under 6 months

glad she came in
