fleas

How do i deal with them?
Treacles been flead, and there's none on her. But there all over the house.
We have laminate flooring in the front room, hall, and kitchen. The 2 bedrooms are carpet.
Do the flea bombs work? or the powders? What would people suggest?
We even thought about an exterminator. But if we can do it ourselves that'd be even better.
Someone suggested hoovering, which i've done. but i have a bagless hoover, so as soon as i try emptying it they all jump out.

Re: fleas

try indorex, i swear by it! spray it everywhere, especially the dark and warm corners and under radiators where they like to hide i even sprayed it on my mattress etc just to be extra safe. get a flea collar and put it inside your hoover too and hopefully that`ll kill off any inside there but when you empty it try to do so directly into a bag outside and not in the house.

good luck!

Re: fleas

The eggs can be everywhere so this is how i treated my house last year when we got fleas.

We totally stripped all the bedding off and boil washed it. Washed all the curtains, cushions etc. Then we hoovered completely and used a spray on the sofas and beds. We literally went through 4 cans on the whole house in one go. We then put a bomb in each of the rooms.

Whilst out of the house because of the bombs we took the opportunity to give the cats a really good brushing to double check they didnt have any fleas on them.

The packaging on the bombs say wait an hour but we had to wait a good 2 to 3 hours.

Dont hoover after bombing because ur sucking up the goodness too. Repeat the above steps in a weeks time.

I became obsessed about fleas but ur laminates will need doing too. If you have a steam cleaner that does well on the floors but we still sprayed and bombed

Re: fleas

We dont have curtains, we have blinds in all rooms.
Also we're not sure weather to bomb or not. We live in a flat and knowing our luck someone will call the fire brigade!
What do i do about the main parts of the sofa and chairs? we can't get down the backs or sides and there attached.
We're thinking of paying an exterminator, at least then we'll know it'll be done.
