Few kitten questions - food, litter etc

Thought I'd put these all in one thread instead of separate ones for each.

I have catsan non clumping litter (got it from the woman I got my litter tray and carrier from), is this ok? Also, at what age can you start using clumping litter?

The girl said that they are on Morrisons own brand kitten pouches (?) and will eat any dry kitten biscuits. I don't have a morrisons very local to me so would prefer them to be on something I can get more easily..and also a bit better quality - suggestions? Also, can anyone recommend good dry food?

That's all for now but please keep an eye on this thread as no doubt I'll think of more to ask and don't want to start another thread

Thanks folks

Re: Few kitten questions - food, litter etc

Hello there,

Congrats on getting a new kitten, really exciting.

Mine used clumping cat litter from a year old, although that's just because I hadn't realised before then you could get clumping and non-clumping . I use Sainsburys own which clumps really well and isn't too expensive. They might be able to use it straight away as kittens I'm not too sure, one thing I will say is that I tried to change to some wood pellet based litter whilst they were kittens and they hated it and I mean hated it!

Food wise, I honesty cant remember what we had them on but I do know we didn't keep them on the same food as the lady we got them off of.

Good luck and enjoy.

Ive replied about food in your post in health and nutrition.

They can use clumping litter from around 8 weeks, I know mine were using it from that young

Thanks Oh, that's great. I think clumping is a lot easier than non clumping? Also, wanting to try that OKO Plus from Zooplus.

About 1 zillions times easier, and yes Oko is my litter of choice, seems expensive at first but lasts a long time so its pretty good. And you can flush the poos and wees if you choose

Re: Few kitten questions - food, litter etc

Thanks Will be getting some OKO Plus! Don't want to order it yet though cos had so many things go wrong with regards to getting kittens so don't want to really get my hopes up til I have my babies in my house!

Will nip to Morrisons later and pick up some of the food they are on just now and maybe get a bag of clumping litter til I order some from zooplus.
