Some people are so suspicious

I'm just looking at adverts for kittens and cats and one man has put one on for two 8 week old kittens saying they are having to sell as they are moving to a new home and can't take them with them. They're obviously kittens they've bought but why would you get 8 week old kittens and then realise you can't take them when moving house? Surely you'd have known you were moving house before you got them?

Clearly another case of kittens taken from mum too early Feel for the poor kitties!

Re: Some people are so suspicious

How do you know they were bought and not bred?

Seriously I think too many people go "Ooh kitten/puppy" without thinking about anything other than "I want one NOW!"

Then get it home, realise "Oh, it doesn't want me to cuddle it and needs looking after - I know, sell it on! Oh, no one wants it. I know, Rescue! - oh they are full. I know, I will dump it in the park. It is a wild animal after all so can take care of itself...."

My local RSPCA has had so many dumped outside their shop, dumped in the park, dumped in bags/boxes by the rubbish bins. I suppose they are dumped in this fashion as when they called the rescue they were told "We are full up!"

Very very sad.

Tell me about it,

I was just perusing websites and found an advert for kittens, 5 weeks 'ready now' makes me so mad...

And found another one that said they had mother and kittens for sale as they already have one cat and can't 'handle' another...

i wish people would not impulse buy them, its not the same as buying a pair of shoes. shoes can be returned, where as an animal can not

Well, I'm only presuming they were bought as they haven't advertised the mum too? Plus they come with bed, litter, litter tray etc which most breeders don't tend to buy and provide with kittens? I could be wrong though.

It is very sad..it took me months to finally decide whether I will be getting kitten(s) or not as I didn't want to impulse buy! Although, I would never neglect my animals and wouldn't give them up unless I really had to (I would only move to a house where I am able to take them with me). My dog is my baby and I couldn't imagine being without him, the thought of ever having to give him up makes me very sad!
